Saving a project as Pro 1.0 or older in...

Thank you for your help!

Short answer: nope.

It's not possible to save as an older version. Several applications can but not Premere.

But why not?? It seems first GREEDY %26amp; unprofessional by adobe to not make it possible for the users!

Why would you need such a feature?

I have had a multimedia produced via pro 2 %26amp; had my friend, video director, creatively further produce it but then he has pro 1 in all of his system comprising of 4 macs %26amp; 4 powered-pcs %26amp; he couldn't change a thing as the version he has is older %26amp; he's unable to change it for both technical %26amp; commercial reasons. And now I'm the one who is stuck with a mediocre feature %26amp; would cost me lots! more to redo the whole thing again using pro 1 for creative furtherence! I hope this explains my delimma %26amp; adobe is just looking for more short gains unlike other software giants as microsoft %26amp; I think adobe would blame it for speciality rather than the mass use with others which is not forward long term thinking %26amp; just greedy for users to pay the ugrade price!

Thanks

Jim,

I have a PC pentium 4 at. 3.2GHZ and it has been successfully doing high

definition for two years but, the mov. clips from the Canon 5D Mark II has

slowed down editing on the timeline as you must render them first for smooth

running , the final movie I must say is stunning on a Sony Bravia 46''''

                    1. I do eventually need a more powerfull computer, but, not untill

Adobe sort out the problems they have with mov performace in CS4

You in the right thread here, Bob?

As Jim points out, PrPro did not get to the Mac until CS3. Pr 6.5 was the last to offer Mac programs, until CS3.

Now, you can certainly do much of your work in PrPro 2.0, and then Export your video to somethink that the Mac can edit further. This would be a Video Asset, and not a Project file, but it's doable.

In very general terms, one can go forward with Project files, but not usually backward.

Good luck,

Hunt
