So, i have say, a drop shadow... how can i turn it off and on like clicking the 'eye' icon in the PS layers palette?

Have tried searches... but only found references to turning off an atribute, not how to do it...

In the Appearance panel, click the eyeball icon next the the appearance item you want to hide.

You can't do this will Illustrator %26lt;14.

Appearance Panel visibility icons (eyeballs) are only available in CS4. There is no way to ''hide'' an appearance attribute in earlier versions other than to remove it.

OK... That's the problem... Illustrator CS3. I should have stated the version at the outset.
