Air Guitar Web-site, used tables, slam...

Ok, check it out. i wanted to use it on this site, so i came up with this fun topic to try it out - and i failed.

Really, I am not making web sites often, but i wanted to see how the CSS would work to design pages.

Anyway, I had to give up, but because I liked my idea about the Air Guitars so much, I continued in tables.

I struggled already to position my content in the middle 800 wide. tried the div tag things, but got frustrated. with the tables, I have to say honestly it makes sense. but I understand that CSS is the future, so where to start really. just a bit more complicated than using CSS as a type stylesheet.

I guess what I was after is that People tell me why not to use this or that, encouragement ect. Is that not what this forum is for?
