Hello,
Is there a way to ask IND CS4 to NOT put pagination on blank pages that IND automatically inserts between my files that are chapters of a book?
The issue is that I have my book parts set to start on ODD page (righ part of a spread) IF the previous chapter finishes on right, IND AUTOMATICALLY adds a blank page that is not part of either file - so I cannot control its properties. I need that page to be BLANK and not bear the same master page properties as the previous page.
Could you please give me a hint? I am sure somebody must have solved this, since it is standard typographical practice NOT to paginate vacant pages in between chapters.
Thank you very much
Tomas
Book featured dokument pagination issueThis is all in how you setup Book and Document Page Numbering Options, where you decide whether it may or may not automatically add pages. You yourself could add a page and drag the None master onto it in order to have a blank page as you want it. While it might be nice to be able to say what master applies IF the book invokes a blank page; OTOH it makes the work a little hands-off at a point where you do want human eyes and quality control to be involved.

Book featured dokument pagination issueThank for your answer. If I understand correctly, there is no way to tell IND CS4 what kind of master page to use when it is adding automatic even pages between booked files to make the next chapter to start on odd page.
Well, nice to discover I am not blind or incompetent in finding this settings, but seriously, this is a rather unfortunate ommision. In fact it makes the automatic addition of pages completely useless and we need to add EVEN page to every file that needs it manually.

Hey Tomas,
I don't know whether to describe it as a plus or a minus. Remember, philosophically, InDesign is a designer software; and less so an automated software system like, for example, FrameMaker, which tends to do the thing you are asking for. Is it a big deal to make sure you have an even-page count in a sub document within a book?
Best to you,
