I have read manuals , the ''help'' files and continue to be somewhat confused. I just now ''synchronized'' my files in CS3 after having a developer help me to get my website started. In the process I saw ''put'' (where are they being put?) but also when I create a new web page I see the message ''check-in'' files being process and then when I complete my page I have been ''checking in''. Please give guidelines:?now that I am ''on my own'' do I need to both ''check-in'' and ''synchronize''??The terminology?is confusing.?Thank you for your help Rosalyn
Synchronization versus check-in versus...The synchronization command will make sure that the same files on the public server are the same as those on your local computer.?When you see the put command, that is when the file is put from your computer onto the server where your website is accessed by people on the internet.
The check-in/check-out features are more for if you have a team of developers who are actively working on the same site.?What this will do is allow for other developers to see that someone else is editing a file and prevent them from editing the file at the same time.?So the files are checked out and checked back in.
