CS4 - installing problem vista x64

1) Did it return a list of the missing components?

2) Do or did you have CS3 installed previous to this installation?

3) Are you on a fresh install of Vista 64 which included reformatting the drive?

* No , its my first time trying to install a photoshop in this Vista.

* yes , I made a ''fresh install'' when I installed vista 64.

Do you have any idea what is it ?!

I dont know if this can be part of the problem but .... the photoshop cs4(64bit) and 32bit are installed in different ''program files'' ..

I tryed to reinstall ... again .... but now the error occured only in the ''PHOTOSHOP CS4 ENGLISH LANGUAGE PACK_x64'' .... i was looking other posts here, and i found some people with the same problem ...

Smeone know how to fix this lang pack ?!? PLZ help me !!

32 and 64 bit CS4 is a normal install on Vista 64. Some add-on items from vendors are not 64 bit ready so you have to use 32 bit for them.

Did you upgrade to Vista Service Pack 2? Service pack 2 contains Windows installer 4.5 (newer installer) and Service Pack 1 does not. If you have SP1 download 4.5 installer as it may help.

Concluded with errors id a rather generic warning and really is not all that informative.

Did you apply the PS Patch 11.0.1?聽 If not, do so.

There is an installation log available, but probably not that useful unless you are a programmer, and then, familiar with the program itself.

You can try to re-install over the top of the existing installtion and see if it fixes it.

Installers are the bane of software writers. Some things simply seem to not be right yet the software functions merrily along. I see it all too frequently and the software runs fine.

I tryied to apply the patch but it ended with errors, the same as in the setup of ps cs4 ... i tryied to reinstall over the existing files, but ... the same issue ''English photoshop cs4 language pack x64'' now im downloading聽 Windows Vista SP 2 .... when i finish everything, i come here to tell you the results ...

Thanks for all the help ... and if someone have any suggestions of what i can do plz help me !!

*none of them works (32 and 64 bits)

I'm having the same problems..

Installed, deleted and reinstalled over and over but I always got the language pack error 2

When I did my install of the Master Collection, the installer always seemed to hang on the 'language pack' part of the installation for each app. What took an 1陆 hours, should have happened in less than 陆 an hour.

The language pack part of the installer really sucks, it can install the whole app in about two minutes, but the 'langpacks' took about 12 minutes each.

This is something that Adobe has to address, I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed this during the install.

It's a bit like this new forum software.

They have acknowledged there are problems and they are ''dealing with it''.

Huh!

When I downloaded Photoshop CS4 I ended up with two different folders.聽 Each folder had its own setup.exe file so I decided to work with the first download folder first.聽 I had trouble for hours dealing with these same language pack errors.聽 However, when I went to the second folder containing the setup.exe file and ran that one as administrator I had success.聽 I would suggest this strategy if you have the same experience with two different download folders appearing.聽 Good luck.
